As I explained earlier, coming back from leave is always difficult and as such, I am generally quite grumpy for the first week or two back on the job.
This morning I was huffily walking around my section tidying up the six days of mess, no doubt scowling at anyone who walked within ten metres of me.
One of the unfortunate people that entered my section in the early hours of this morning was Bernard Curry.
As I already explained, I was quite distracted by filth and was hurriedly trying to make my area look better when Mr. Curry entered my section and started looking at a few of our jackets.
“Hey, how are you?” I grunted in a forcedly pleasant tone.
“Hi. Good thanks, how are you?” he politely responded.
At this rare moment of customer kindness I stopped wrangling jumpers onto hangers and looked up to talk to this kind person that treats retail workers like a fellow human.
It was at this point I thought to myself, holy shit it’s the guy that went on the run in Home and Away and slept with one of the Rafters.
It was ten seconds later, while still staring at him, that I remembered what his name was.
It was at this point I mumbled out a response and he went back to what he was doing.
Another minor celebrity graces my presence, another awkward moment.
