What's in a break? Torts

Growing up in a small town, away from the Brisbane City I had never seen the shop Torts until it was introduced to me by my friend Hannah about a year ago.

Torts is a take-away food chain that freshly makes tortilla wraps and nachos while you watch and wait. It is delicious food…and there is a something exciting about watching your food be cooked right in front of you.

They also make chips. I am greatly saddened by the fact that there were 23 years where Torts’ chips were not in my life. Very saddened.

They are amazing.

From what I can tell, they are Tortillas that have been sliced into strips and are then deep-fried. While this would be delicious as is, they are heavy handed with their seasoning. A seasoning that is mind-blowing-ly orgasmic.

The chips are something that you can sit and eat on your break with a small jar of their guacamole and become so engrossed in the food, and the need to continue eating, that before you realise, you are shovelling them in like you are a garbage disposal and you end up with crumbs stuck high up in your beard and dip slathered all over your face.

But maybe that is just me?

Either way, if you have not been to Torts yet…go. If you don’t live near one, be sad. Very sad.
