It is quite clear that I am a journalism nerd.
I am easily excited, and in turn panicked, by seeing writers, anchors and reporters or columnists on the shop floor.
On Wednesday, however, I managed to serve one…stay conscious AND string together a coherent sentence.
Kay regularly comes into my store and is always insanely nice…I think that has something to do with my lack of hyperventilating. It is like talking to your mum: comforting and attentive.
Regular customers could learn a lot from Kay.
My first interaction with Kay was when someone had left a security tag on one of her garments. Kay was with a stylist, clearly getting some new newsreader looks, and was kind and warm,
She approached the counter, calmly and said, “I think a tag was left on something.”
Usually customers come up to the angry and huff that the stupid sales assistant left a tag on. Not Kay however.
“Oh, I’m so sorry! I’ll take it off for you. Sorry we left it on.”
“Don’t worry…it’s not a hassle at all! Thanks for taking it off.”
With that, she turned and walked away.
I think Kay just got herself upgraded to another of my career crushes.
