Shop Boy’s Journey of Culinary Expansion: Cob Dip

Now I understand that the premise behind this column is to expand my culinary horizons.

Cob Dip probably isn’t the most culinary of dishes, however I have not made one before and as such, making one constitutes me expanding on my current culinary skill set.

To aid in warming our new house, I decided that being winter it was appropriate, and necessary, for us to serve up a cob dip and whilst the dip is cold, it truly warms the cockles of your soul.

And it is simple to make.

You mix all the ingredients for your dip, which in this instance was a Spinach Dip recipe I got from my cousin, hollow out a cob loaf, toast chunks of the removed bread, bake the cob in the oven to firm it up and fill it with the dip.

That is it.

It may not have expanded my culinary horizons very far, but it was an absolute hit.

Delicious…or in the word’s of my cousin, “Cob-a-licious!”
